The Yellow Field.

Last July Matt and I were following our friend Bryce to the zoo. The route we took led us through old roads that surrounded us by farms and fields. It was a beautiful drive but Matt and I weren't really paying any attention to the sights around us, instead we were submerged in coversation and excitement about feeding the baby goats (well I guess that was just me...)

We noticed Bryce slowing his speed infront of us and then pulling over... we were concerned and as we followed him to the shoulder we quickly unfastened our seatbelts and got out of the car. Bryce came up to us and asked for a camera, Matt and I were like 'ughhhhh why?' 'Look at that he said' and as we followed his gaze we were in awe. Nothing was wrong at all, in fact things were perfect. To the left of us was the most stunnnninng (like seriously mostt stunnninngggg) field the 3 of us had ever seen. We drove through the area when these yellow flowers were in full bloom... the field was a vibrant dandilion yellow for as far as we could see. Now everytime we go for a drive, we look around and think of Bryce when we see yellow fields and we remember to take it all in.
This brings me to this weeks favourites:
* dandilions that you can make a wish on
* driving with Matt (or someone you love, I like the relaxing conversation and the lull of the car)
*looooveeeeeeeeee

Mcgarret Family //Bowmanville Family Photographer// Oshawa Portrait Photographer

I think this ^ was sooo funny, I knew they made overalls for a reason!

fulll of personality!

I was asked by Matt's mom, Carmel if I would be interested in photographing her girlfriend from works 3 little boys and their family ... would I? of coarsee I would!

We set up a couple dates but because of one thing or another we had to keep rescheduling until finally our schedules lined up and this past weekend I joined Crystal, Scott, Travis, Jacks and Jared in their home in bowmanville for a "Just Because" session.
The kids were beautifullllll, like blond haired, blue eyed little angels kind of beautiful. Travis was quick to become my little bestie and I simply adored him. Jacks and Jared were so sweet and smiley and I loveeeed how easy going Scott and Crystal were. Matt and I were a little early and we arrived as the babies and mommy were still getting ready, so as Crystal went to finish up she just plopped one of the babies in Matt's arms and off she went! I was cutting up some watermelon (a cool idea, but it turned out to work better in my head than with these little darlings, although I think Travis enjoyed it ;) and I quickly releived Matt of his baby cuddling duties and took over ( I literally cannot help myself when it comes to babies, my cutey cutey baby voice comes out and I just haveeeee to hold them!)Scott and Crystal, Thank you for sharing your stunning family with us. You are blessed and Im so happy I was able to get to know the five of you. I hope you enjoy these images as I have.

Derek+Robyn engaged // Peterborough Wedding Photographer// Kawartha Lakes Photographer

This weekend I had the pleasure of photographing Derek and Robyn for their engagement. Robyn wanted their pictures done in 'fields' but had no idea where we could make this happen. The one and only place I could think of was my childhood home, 'the farm' as our family calls it so thats where we went. I have never taken any of my clients there but I think Im going to more often because there were soo many different spots to shoot in! I could have stayed there all dayy and still found different locations.

When I told Robyn and Derek of this place they were thrilled. The weather was cloudy and rained on and off all day but we managed to sneak outside for some shots and Im so happy we did because we had so much fun and the light was ah-mazinnnggg!

Robyn and Derek met while in school, and amongst all the readings, papers and crazy roomates they fell in love. Now after completing teachers college at Nippising University they are going out into the world in search of young minds to nurture and help grow. together.

fierrrce!

goorggeeeouuuus!

this is one of my favs! ^ I dont know why, but I think it is totally themmm. Robyn is all smiles when she is with Derek, and he just seems like he wants to make her happy which is beatiful.
you both are superrr cute!

Im ending with this post because you are smokinnn' Robyn and together you make this photo incredible. I told you that you guys look great - noooow do you beleive me;)

Thank you for choosing me and Im sooooooo thrilled to photograph your wedding next summer.

Alyssa+Kaeley Married // Guelph, ON Wedding Photographer // GTA Wedding Photography

As I watched Aylssa and her bridesmaid get ready, there was a feeling of excitement all around. There were no words of reassurance because none were necessary, Alyssa knew in her heart that Kaely was the one she would grow old with. The one that she would rush out at 2 in the morning in the middle of winter to buy her soup and cough syrup. The one that she could curl up beside after a long work week and watch big brother with. Kaely was Alyssa's forever and I could not have been happier that I got to document a day that could not have been more loved filled and beautiful.

Ladies, you’re probably laying on the beach sipping on umbrella covered drinks right now but I just wanted to share a sneak peak :) Whether you see these now, or when you get home I hope you love them as much as I do. And I hope when your 1st, 25th and 50th wedding anniversary comes around they will help you reminisce about the love that you shared on this day.
my favourite part of the ceremony (probably sounds cliche but the emotions revolving around this moment, this one kiss are so intense and beautiful.)
Kaely, you are soo funny! I love this shot!

The details of the wedding were gorgeous! From the cake and the favours to the flowers to the dresses - everything matched and flowed with perfection.

Im ending with this image because of the way it made me feel. I was overwhelmed by the intimacy of your first dance. In a room filled with your friends and family, all you saw was one another. You both glowed and couldnt have looked more in love and just in awe of the person standing in front of you. I wish you all the best and thank you for letting me join you in this part of your journey.

Gift Certificates

upside down? haha silly internet.
This year has been a trying one for me and my family. We have gone through the death, separation and a wholllle lotta stresss that goes along with that. What I can truely say has helped me get through a lot of the emotions is photography. I love love LOVE what I do and it brings me so much happiness to share in the love and special moments of all my awesome clients. I am able to give them memories and I know that when times are rocky people especially hold onto to those moments and crave to reminisce. At the time of my Poppas funeral my family was hard pressed to find photos of the great life he lived. The rare photo we found, we cherished thats why I think its so important to capture everything. You never know what you will want to look back on one day.
I have decided to incorporate 2 new deliciouus packages into my business. The first really isnt a 'new package' BUT super cool none the less, 'Just Because' gift certificates are now available to give all your friends and family! With the holidays coming up why not surpise your friends and loved ones with the gift of memories (and a realllllly fun time with me!) The second is a 'Belly to Baby' package which I cant think of a better gift at a baby shower (gift certificates available) or a gift to yourself and your new little twinkle if your expecting. With this package you will get an hour and half session in total, half an hour being spent with you and your beautiful belly and then an hour when the little peanut arrives capturing the ten little toes and your new family.
My mom designed and created all of the gift certificates! Shes amazing with crafts (after all sheis the CR8TIVE1 as her liscense plate states :)haha) Thanks mom, your the best!

Rose. Just Because

gorgeouusssssss

A couple weeks ago Rose contacted me for one of my 'just because' sessions. We met on Saturday at her home in Burlington and had a really fun time together, not to mention I got some great shots of her and her son Johnny. My mom and Rose used to work with one another and since have become really good friends, so my mom decided to tag along to be the 'fashion consultant'. The weather was beautiful but even if it was gloomy outside, Rose still would have looked fierrrce.
uhhhmmm, yessss your shoes are fabbuloouuuus and I totally love them!

Rose has that warmth to her personality. The warmth that draws you in and puts a smile on your face. The warmth that even though you have met her for the first time, makes you feel like you have known one another for years, and the conversation is easy and comfortable. She is radiant inside and out and is a great friend. Her thoughfulness is remarkable and I am truely lucky to have had the honor to photograph her and her son (who definitly got some laughs out of me during our session!)

Thank you Rose for your kindness and insights.
and I will end with this shot because (a little blurry but its still one of my favs!) this is Rose, all smiles and a contageous laugh!
