Greg + Allison Married //Toronto Wedding Photographer // GTA Wedding Photographer

The day started in the Novotel Hotel in Toronto. As Allison , her parents and bridesmaids got glamorous with eyelashes, shoes (that were to die for) cute clutches and finally their stunning dresses, there was excitement all around. Excitement to see their friend and sister walk down the aisle and say ‘forever’. Excitement to see their daughter become a wife. Excitement to exchange arms with her father to what would soon be the man she will grow old with. Excitement and love from all around.
The groomsmen on the other hand, were anxious … scouring you tube for ‘how to’ videos because not one of them knew what knot would secure their ties, that is until Matt showed up to shoot the ‘getting ready shots’, he managed to tie the proper knots and got some great photos too!Greg was soooo sweet to write a little note to each of the bridesmaids!
blinnngbliinnnnggg below!
We all met in the Distillery District in Toronto for a ‘First Look’ and bridal party shots. This was such a great way to start the day because it allowed us TONS of time for group shots and shots of just the bride and groom, and it also left them lots of time after the ceremony to enjoy their friends and family.
The day was beautiful, full of love, kind words and small details that really were so special and the couples personality and spirit really shone through.

This was a bow off of Allison's moms wedding dress, it was her 'something old' and she pinned it underneath her own dress.

The first look!

fiiiiierrrceThe Distillery District offered such cool spots, I could shoot there everyday!
um, yea you both are gorrgeeeouuuss!
yayyyy for the details (which Allison made most of!)
The Enoch Turner schoolhouse was ahhhmmaaazing! Such a unique venue!
Allisons Father looked so proud to walk his daughter down the aisle, it was beautiful.

And I'm going to end with this shot of one of the groomsmen and his 'dance in' because its hilarious and jsut reminds me of how fun and wonderful the evening was!
Greg and Allison, it was a pleasure getting to know you both. I felt so comfortable chatting away with you and getting to know your friends and family, everyone was so kind and welcoming. Your wedding was beautiful and I just want to thank you so much for letting me be there to capture you both on this day. I wish you so much love and all the best things life has to offer!

Books!

Alyssa and Kaeleys books have arrived!
I was soo excited to hold them in my hands and flip through the pages, they turned out even better than I had hoped! I loveeee them! You can see their wedding post at http://jadphotography.blogspot.com/2010/08/alyssakaely-married-guelph-on-wedding.html.
I think it is soooo important to actually 'giveee' your clients something... whether is prints or a totally gorgeous custom made photobook so they can hold their images in their hands and remember those little details or that feeling they had on their wedding day. All my packages include this keepsake and you can always order an extra or two (or 3 or 4 ) for friends and family!

because.

The conversation went something like this,

'jenn why dont we use that pantry for all our food and then we can put pots and the other cooking utensils in the cupboards above the sink' ... 'uhhmm no I dont think that that will work matt'...'why? that makes the most sense, all of our food can be in one spot instead of scattered in different cupboards' ... 'it wont work, just because...'

'because why?'

'becauuuuseeeeee I obviously need to put all my shoes in that pantry... look at the shelves Matt - pppppperrrrrfeecccct size to store annnnd display all of my heels. And then in the bottom, I can store all of my boots!?!?!?!?!'

and then I got an eye roll and tons of mutterings along the lines of 'whattt didd i get myself intooo'

But that pantry holds my babies proud and we got used to opening a few cupboards to find the pasta sauce...

Matt,

This is why I love you so much ... you think my ideas are crazy, but you go with them. You put up with my obsession with shoes and clothes, and picture frames and expensive purses. You get why we haddd to build a dolly parton princess playhouse. You don't think its insane to wait an hour outside a store to be the first in line to go inside for those great deals and you understand 'boy jobs'. I love you so much and I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in all my decisions (kitchen pantry shoe closets and all) But most of all I wanted to thank you for being my biggest fan and doing whatever you can to help make my dreams come true.

Here is a 'test' shot from the photobooth Matt shot for me at our last wedding...

Gallant Family // Brampton ON Family Photographer// GTA Baby Photographer

This weekend I finally had the opportunity to meet the newest addition to the Gallant family, baby Nolan and he is just the sweetest little guy.Ever. His au natural faux hawk and little rocker outfit were soooooo adorable. I had an amazing time working with him and Nathan (who had to have a 'mohawk' just like his little brother) and Nicholas who was a huge help to me by moving furniture and holding a side of my background until I got it into place. Here are some of the shots we got (it was so hard to pick these few because I loveddddd them alll!)
(sorry Brian, I had to show my blue and white loveeee)
(Nathan, you are going to make girls hearts melt!)
Brian and Shari, your family is true perfection. All three boys are so lovely and polite and superr handsome. I really enjoyed capturing Nolans first portraits and all these moments for you to share with your family here in Ontario and out east (Grampy finally gets his updated family photo!). Thank you for letting me rearrange your whole living room and for being so accomodating, I hope that you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed capturing them.

on the boat. //lakefield family photographer // kawartha lakes photographer

It sums up summer for me... being on a boat that is. I love the way the sun shimmers off the golden skin of the passengers. The way the waters mist feels against the palm of your hand and the glare from the water as its mirror like surface is broken. Summer.

I don't own a boat but my Aunt Karen does and so our family got the frequent luxury of tubing and swimming at the local sandbar. This summer has been soo busy for me that when I did get a day off or a weekend off (they were few and far between but Im not complaining! I looove what I do) I tried to see as much family and friends as possible and to live up my free time. This day, the day I finally was able to accompany my family on the boat sticks out in my mind. It was full of mindless chatter and laughter that only comes from knowing eachother inside and out (and watching aunt k sink in her sand chair) which was so refreshing and completely rejuvinating.

So as the weather get colder and we say goodbye to summer I want to remember to enjoy each day and continue to take time to laugh and talk with my family and to look forward to these easy summer days.

And Ill end with these because they make me smile and want to give my brother a big kiss because he is hilarious.

Jordy+Mike Married //Port Perry Photographer // Kawartha Lakes Wedding Photographer

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending my friend Jordy and Mikes wedding (as a guest) which was really cool because I havn't had many opportunities to be on the 'other' side of a wedding. To witness rather than document and it was refreshing.

The ceremony was held on Lake Scugog on these enchanting grounds, it was straight out of the movies how stunning this place was. As my friend Erin said, you could picture elaborate and fanciful parties being held in the 1920's, with tuxedos and cigars and flapper dresses.
We got a little wet as it poured a few minutes before the couple came down the aisle but it was beautiful none the less and I managed to grab just a few quick shots. The day was filled with love and kind words reminiscing about the couple, growing up, falling in love and it was simply perfect.
Jordy and Mike, I wish you much happiness and success in becoming teachers and no matter what happens in your forever, remember your love on this day and the smiles and laughter you shared.
