50 years ...

50 years and he still finds her funny. 50 years and she still irons his shirts the way he likes them. 50 year and he still holds her hand. 50 years and she thinks hes as handsome as ever. 50 years and he still looks at her and sees the beautiful young woman he fell madly in love with.

This past week my Aunt Joan and Uncle Keith celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. On sunday our family and friends gathered to congratulate them on their milestone and wish them 50 more years filled with love and laughter.

It was so beautiful and inspiring to watch two people who have been together through the best of times and the worst of times and who have experienced struggle and joy together to still have that magic between them, and that sparkle of love.

I love you both SO much, congratulations. You are my role model for what a genuine loving relationship looks like <3

mmmm the cake was SOOOO yummy.

Emilee+Alexis

Over the weekend I had the pleasure of shooting two of the girls from the Prom I shot a couple weeks ago. It was so much fun getting to know them on a more personal level and re-live how exciting it is to finish highschool and have that last summer at home before going on to a new adventure of either working or post secondary studies.

Emilee and Alexis told me that this summer they just planned on 'livin it up'! We laughed and I snapped pictures as the 3 of us tried not to fall off the bridge into the water. They both had such bright and upbeat personalities which was so fun to work with, I had SO much fun!

Enjoy your summer and have an amazing time in your adventures next year!

Amanda + Kevin engaged

A couple of weeks ago I shot Amanda and Kevin’s engagement and I have to say it was a really awesome day. I very much enjoyed getting to know them both and their 2 cute doggies.

They met years ago through friends at a bar she recalls, he says they even got a picture together – apparently Amanda is super impressed by Kevin in the photo ;) but after that they went their separate ways and it wasn’t until later on that they realized there might be a little magic between them!

I visited their beautiful home in Cobourg and amongst the chatting and laughing we got some great shots! I always feel so happy leaving an engagement shoot because there is SO much love around, and I especially felt that way after leaving Amanda and Kevin. I saw their love in the way he saved her from the icky bugs, in the way that she looked at him and could see herself growing old in his arms. I saw the love in their laughs and their chatter. It was in the way that Kevin wanted to make Amanda’s vision of what the photographs would look like come to life – he thought of things like moving this and that to ensure they wouldn’t be in the shot before her or I even realized they were there. It was in his patience and in her spirit. Amanda and Kevin you are beautiful and so is your love.

I absolutely adore you both! And I am very excited and honored to get to share your first day as husband and wife with you! And I PROMISE I won’t wear jeans and flipflops to your wedding and hopefully there won’t be 3 crazy people trying to catch a glimpse of your venue and setup ;)

seriously, it really must be hard being THIS fabulous all the time! I don't know how you guys doooo it!

Wanna go to the Prom ?

After I found out I had the opportunity to shoot the Thomas A Stewart formal I called up Matt and asked him if he would be my prom date... he sweetly asked if I was on something because clearly I am had graduated from highschool a lonnnnng time ago.
Little did he know, he'd not only be taking me to the prom but also lifting, slugging, and setting up all of my equipment (haha)It was pretty fun shooting the prom I have to say, it brought back this sense of nostalgia to my highschool formal! I remember how exciting it is to be asked to go, picking out your dress, getting your hair and makeup done (I felt like such a princesss-which I totally lovedd) and that sense of this being the most exciting night of your life - something that your going to remember forever...
The students were all cool and it was really surreal chatting with some of them about their post secondary plans and offering them a little advice on certain things I had learned during my University experience!

I wish you all the best class of 2010, your going to do great things!

Hunter Family

A couple of weeks ago I shot the Hunter family and it was such a pleasure working with them! Kathryn contacted me to inquire about shooting a family portrait for her moms birthday, and of coarse I was honored! (I think it so awesome when clients search and search and then they find the right fit for them - and its you, its really an un-describable feeling)

We went to Erindale Park in Mississauaga (which is now one of my favourite spotss!) its so big and theres tons of neat spots to shoot - and not your typical flower garden type of shots either...
One great thing about the Hunter's is that they knew what they wanted and knew they didnt want to melttt in the hot sun so we were fasst and I think captured a lot of personality!

Here are a couple of my favourites! I had a blast getting to know your family!
